The entire volume is edited by Dick Riley, a playwright and novelist, and Pam McAllister, a lecturer in English and a writer, with a foreword by Julian Symons, a crime writer and poet. Besides synopses of the various Agatha Christie novels and plays and lists of her works, which form the core of the volume, there are also feature articles by contributors which are research topics or anlytical pieces. A second edition, with the title The New Bedside, Bathtub and Armchair Companion to Agatha Christie was issued by Ungar in 1986 which features additional material.
